Got a buck? The Marines will turn it into a Book for a Kid.
TOYS FOR TOTS is is a familiar and trusted charity. When I used to shop for little kids, I sometimes got a duplicate and threw it into the designated donation box — or went shopping especially for that toy even if we didn’t have kids.
I am ordering most of my little kid toys for faraway grandkids online these days, but I found out I can ALSO sit here in front of the ‘puter and put something into the pot! And, in my case, it is BOOKS!
If the Marines want to ask me which books to buy, I will be happy to give them a list, but I am thinking they know better than I what books are most wanted by little ones. (I’d send them Christopher Robin, and Frog and Toad, and Where the Wild Things Are.)
Books somehow don’t just get dumped into landfills. They hang around for the next sibling, or get donated to Good Will, or maybe they just stay in the bookcase like mine did until one has kids of his or her own!
One dollar will buy one book, the Marines are saying. I hope they can get Christopher Robin for only one buck. Go Marines!
Love and Hugs to the Kids from me, and a big Thank You to the Marines for doing my shopping.
